WNBA’s first Chinese player since 1997 scores winning debut

Keeping Score

Han Xu’s debut with the WNBA was a game against her former teammates on the Chinese National Team.

Xu scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds and made three assists for the New York Liberty who beat China 89 to 71 in a pre-season exhibition game at the Barclay’s Center in New York.

First noticed at the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain last year, Xu was picked in the second round of the WNBA draft earlier this year. Xu said the WNBA is the most prestigious league there is. So what does the league say?
