G20 finance ministers discuss corporate tax overhaul, trade disputes

The U.S. Treasury Secretary said he’ll talk privately with China’s Central Bank Governor this weekend–but don’t expect a breakthrough on ending the trade war.

Steven Mnuchin says any progress will have to wait until the U.S. and Chinese presidents meet at the G-20 summit in Japan later this month. Mnuchin is attending a meeting to prepare for the summit.

He and other G-20 finance ministers are discussing what could be the biggest corporate tax overhaul in a century.

They’re considering ways to end the practice of global companies paying ultra-low taxes.
