Chile’s Atacama Desert becomes a tourist destination for a total solar eclipse

The Coquimbo region in Chile is gearing up for what is expected to be one of the biggest astronomical events of the century. This remote area in the Chilean desert will be the focal point for a total eclipse of the sun.

People from all over the world are expected to travel to the location which is expected to bring tons of tourists and be a bonanza for business.

But is the region ready?
