The Heat: China’s 70th Anniversary

The Heat

The People’s Republic of China was founded on October 1st 1949.  And this week it marked the 70th anniversary of that historic occasion.

Chinese President Xi Jinping joined thousands in Tiananmen Square for a massive celebration. It included a large military parade with 15,000 personnel taking part. On display were some of China’s new and advanced weapons including the Dongfeng-41 nuclear missile.

More than 100,000 people took part in the festivities as China remembered its past and looked to the future.
