This week, Afghanistan has been in the news. The country’s presidential election has been marred by violence and charges of fraud at the ballot box – and the Taliban has also made new overtures to the U.S. government – hoping to resume stalled peace talks.

As such, we thought it would be a good time to repost our interview w/ CGTN’s Sean Callebs. He has a long history reporting from Afghanistan and, last Spring, he spent several weeks there – interviewing a wide range of everyday citizens, and getting a sense of life in the war torn nation.
