“Americas Now” anchor Elaine Reyes interviews Ivan Ontaneda. A CEO for a coffee and cocoa company for 30 years, he is now the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries in Ecuador.

Ecuador has been significantly changing in the last two years. It made a decision to alter its economic and production model. And its investment model.

The country became “dollarized” in the year 2000 after a financial crisis. Now Ecuador has a new economic plan.

Elaine talks to the Trade Minister about his intention to increase exports and investments and his country’s strategy to open new markets.
