The Heat: China global trade

The Heat

President Xi Jinping called on global leaders to end trade barriers and resist protectionism in a speech at the second annual China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The Chinese leader said, “China will open its doors wider to the world and adhere to the fundamental state policy of opening up.”

Meanwhile, negotiations between China and the United States continue on a potential trade deal, with conflicting reports about a possible agreement to rollback existing tariffs.
