The St. Louis ‘Red Line’ of poverty and violence

Podcasts

St. Louis, once among the most prosperous cities in the United States, is now in steep decline. Once home to a healthy industry and growing middle class, large sections of America’s gateway to the West are now ravaged by poverty, crime, and violence.

‘The Red Line’, a new documentary from CGTN America’s BIG STORY, is a compelling – often heartbreaking – look into the lives of those caught in a repeating pattern of social neglect and deadly gun violence in St. Louis – and what some of them are trying to do about it.

Joining us to talk about ‘The Red Line’ – and the ongoing cycle of poverty and violence in cities like St Louis – is the documentary’s host and producer, Danny Gold.
