U.S. President Donald Trump Friday said Iranian general Soleimani was plotting “imminent and sinister attacks” and “we caught him in the act and terminated him.”

He also said Soleimani was killed “to stop a war” and the U.S. is “ready and prepared” for any response.

Trump made the remarks in West Palm Beach, Florida before he was scheduled to speak at the kickoff meeting of “Evangelicals for Trump.”
