It’s a longstanding tradition, Chinese foreign ministers make Africa their first trip of the year, and this year is no different.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Egypt, Burundi, Eritrea, Djibouti and Zimbabwe this week, a testament to China’s continuing commitment to the African continent.
The Asian giant has poured billions of dollars into infrastructure projects and aid to African nations and its outreach aims to boost economic and political ties.
