The impeachment trial against Donald Trump began Tuesday with some fireworks on the Senate floor.

Republicans and Democrats disagreeing on a number of issues, including the rules of the proceedings.

Those guidelines have been amended. Both sides get three days for opening arguments and evidence from the House of Representatives will now also be admitted without a vote.

The battle over witnesses, however, is still to come.
