The coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the United States.

Now a new government document projects the daily death toll could reach 3000 by June 1. The grim forecast comes as governors around the country continue to face political and economic pressure to get the country back on track. Meanwhile, Japan has extended its state of emergency until the end of the month. The measure comes amid growing criticism over Japanese Prime Minister’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
