The Heat: US President orders crackdown against violence

The Heat

US President Trump ordered soldiers and federal police to crackdown on demonstrators in Washington DC, after violence and looting in the US capital.  The use of force outside the White House came minutes before a city curfew was set to begin, in order to clear a path for the president to walk to a landmark church for a photo op. Protesters have gathered for over a week now, calling for justice in the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man killed in police custody in the US city of Minneapolis.

For the very latest, we turn to CGTN’s White House Correspondent Nathan King.
