The Heat: China’s Navigation System & U.S. Politics

The Heat

U.S. health experts testified before a House coronavirus panel Friday. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top U.S. infectious disease expert, called out the need for a national strategy and warned the U.S. could soon face as many as 100-thousand infections a day. The U.S. leads the world with 4.5 million confirmed cases and more than 152,000 deaths. CGTN’s Nathan King reports.

And China marks a major milestone in its space effort with the Beidou navigation system. It’s China’s version of GPS and can be used for everything from personal navigation on smartphones to tracking planes and cargo ships. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a ceremony Friday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to mark the achievement.
