The man credited with helping Donald Trump become U.S. president is due to appear in court this Thursday charged with embezzling donations for a private border wall.

Steve Bannon is one of four defendants accused of defrauding donors to a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.

And Trump, who once described Bannon as one of the best talents in politics, now seems to want to put up a barrier between himself and his former employee
