The UN General Assembly meetings, held virtually this year because of coronavirus, focused this week on the issue of Biodiversity. Leaders from around the world, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, addressed a UN Summit. They focused on the health of the planet and the unique challenges it faces to protect the environment. We also turn our attention to the United Nations Development Programme and issues including poverty and inequality.
