Amazon is wrapping up its annual worldwide Prime Day in which it offers subscribers 48 hours of special offers.

The online retailer has enjoyed enormous profits during the pandemic. But that was at the expense of the health of thousands of employees who caught COVID-19 as they worked around the clock to supply those under lockdown.

The challenges for Amazon to maintain its dominance are only multiplying as we head into the winter in the northern hemisphere.
