Americas Now

The epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic is now Latin America, where by the end of September 2020, almost 7 million cases have been recorded, and more than 266,000 people have died.

Brazil, by far the biggest and most populated country in the region, has seen more than 125,000 deaths. And while its President, Jair Bolsonaro, has tended to downplay the risks of the disease, the countrys doctors have saved countless lives, and continue to do so.
