Activists on the ground and online worked tirelessly to make sure more people of color made it to the polls for the 2020 Presidential election in the United States. Some commentators see their work as a crucial part in why Presumptive President-elect Joe Biden was able to take the White House.

CGTN spoke with Deborah D. Douglass, Eugene S. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism at DePauw University and senior leader with The OpEd Project, about some of the work that was done by activist, what was driving them during this election cycle, and what their strategies mean for the future of American democracy.
