While most countries in South America have begun mass vaccination programs, Venezuela has been slow to get going. Politics may be partly to blame. 

CGTN’s Stephen Gibbs reports from Caracas. 

“The resources that Venezuela needs to buy vaccines they are keeping  frozen and stolen from us in England, in Portugal, in Spain, in the United States. They have the money frozen and stolen so that Venezuela is without the vaccine. That is the truth, ” Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan President said.

A Caracas resident told us, “According to the government, it will arrive in April, but let’s see.”

The medical experts warn that mixing politics and COVID could be dangerous. They say this is the time for agreement, not discussion.
