Winter storms bring concerns for the homeless people in Chicago

Much of the United States is currently feeling the frigid effects of a ‘polar vortex’ — drawing Arctic cold down from the northern pole.  

No place in the country is feeling the cold more than the Upper Midwest, where below freezing temperatures are downright life threatening.  

In Chicago, authorities in are deeply concerned ​about the city’s homeless population ​and have stepped up efforts at outreach.
