Schools reopen in Bogota after nearly a year

Some 120 public schools and nearly 600 daycare and private schools in Bogota, Colombia were allowed to re-open this week after almost a year of virtual learning.

CGTN’s Michelle Begue has more from Bogota.

Schools in rural areas need funding to provide adequate bio security measures.

In Bogota alone, officials said they had to invest almost six million dollars in 110 different public schools to fix bathrooms and create adequate space for social distancing.

It’s a challenge that will take time to reach some of the more remote regions of the country.
