With more than half of the adult population in the United States having received at least one dose of vaccine,1 the government is loosening some restrictions allowing fully-vaccinated people to go without mask outdoors – and in restaurants or small gatherings.

The average number of new daily cases in the U.S. dropped to under fifty thousand. But in other parts of the world, we have a completely different picture.

Brazil reported more than 407,000 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. It’s the country with most deaths, after the U.S.
