The Heat

We begin in India where the coronavirus outbreak remains out of control.

The country has been averaging well above 300,000 new cases of COVID-19 every day for a couple of weeks, and the health system has reached desperation.

At the current pace, India could eventually overtake the U.S. as the country with the most cases of COVID-19. Although India is the biggest manufacturer of coronavirus vaccines, fewer than 3 % of its population has been fully vaccinated.
