U.S. prepares to put ban on menthol cigarettes

For years, smoking cessation activists along with many groups representing African Americans have been pushing for a ban on menthol cigarettes, which are very popular among black smokers.

The tobacco industry has been marketing mint-flavored cigarettes to communities of color for decades. But some social justice groups are worried a ban would lead to further policing of black neighborhoods.
