UN backs Cuba’s demand for U.S. to lift trade embargo

The U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday backed Cuba’s resolution demanding the lifting of U.S. trade restrictions which date back more than 60 years.

Cuban officials say the blockade denies its people their right to self-determination and equates the embargo to an act of war.
