The Heat

Next week, the Communist Party of China will mark 100-years since it was founded in Shanghai.

The party which has ruled China since 1949 now has more than 90-million members making it one of the biggest in the world. Red banners and billboards now line the streets of Beijing and Shanghai in anticipation of the July first celebrations. China has made numerous achievements, from eradicating extreme poverty for nearly 100 million people living in rural areas, to its Belt and Road initiative building ports, railways and 5G networks around the world. The country has also made significant contributions in space exploration, artificial intelligence and in the global fight against climate change.
