Strong second quarter growth belies fears over Delta variant

The U.S. posted further evidence on Thursday that its economy has put the devastating impact of the pandemic behind it.

Economic output expanded six-and-a-half percent over the last few months.

The COVID-19 Delta variant is so prevalent, U.S. health authorities have reversed course on their guidance, telling even fully-vaccinated people to put masks back on when indoors in high-risk areas.

And that’s left some concerned about how the Delta variant will impact growth..
