Like many parts of western United States, the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific have also been struggling with wildfires for almost a month, with the Big Island fighting the largest wildfire it’s ever seen. 

Climate change has turned the islands’ typically wet, tropical weather into increasingly drier conditions over the years. 

Experts say, the trend is causing more frequent and larger fires that are creating a cycle of ecological damage that affects vital and limited resources for millions of residents.
