The sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee adopted a communique Thursday, acknowledging China’s achievements over the last 100 years. Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered an important speech before the members. The resolution cites the guiding principles of Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. It points to 10 principles including upholding the party’s leadership, putting the people first, advancing theoretical innovation and maintaining a global vision.

Meanwhile, at COP26 in Glasgow, China and the U.S. have agreed to cooperate on climate change.
