Chicago teachers rebel amid COVID surge safety fears

The current COVID surge in the U.S. is now pitting teachers against their employers in Chicago.

Teachers voted to resume remote learning in defiance of the mayor’s insistence on in-person classes.

And as retailer Macy’s announced it was shortening hours across all its U.S. stores to cope with COVID staffing shortages, lawmakers are reportedly discussing another stimulus program to help businesses through the pandemic’s latest wave.
