U.S. central bank head pledges to curb inflation in second term bid

The head of the U.S. central bank pledged to stop soaring inflation becoming what he called “entrenched” as he made his case for a second term on Tuesday.

The Federal Reserve Chair is seeking lawmakers’ confirmation to serve another four years.

But as he juggles the highest inflation in decades with the pandemic recovery, securing bipartisan support may be the easy part for Powell.
