The Heat: Ukraine admits taking heavy losses in Donetsk region

Ukraine acknowledged on Friday that it was taking heavy losses in Russia’s assault in the east.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office said Russia was bombarding the front line in the eastern Donetsk region to prevent the Ukrainians from regrouping. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin is threatening quote — “lightning-fast strikes” — on those who want to intervene in the war.
