This Sunday, Lebanon held a parliamentary election, the first since the 2019 protests against the government.

The powerful Shia Hezbollah party was expected to win more seats after former Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri pulled out of the contest.

But the group and its allies suffered losses even in areas they controlled.
