Major corporations face backlash for attempting to co-opt Juneteenth

People across the U.S. and beyond are this Monday marked the second official Juneteenth federal holiday.

The Biden administration declared June 19th an official day of remembrance to mark not just the moment the last slaves were emancipated in 1865, but ongoing racial injustice.

But there’s concern that in just its second year, Juneteenth is being hijacked by commercial interests.
