Brazil’s urban gardens produce organic food for residents

Long before the COVID-19 outbreak, a Rio de Janeiro initiative created organic gardens in the city’s favelas or slums.

It was so inventive that it was included in the list of criteria identified as essential to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable goals in 2020.

Now, one of them is aiming to become the world’s largest organic urban garden and could potentially help alleviate the current food crisis.
