Migrants still struggling with dangers, trials in U.S. immigration policies

World Today

Tens of thousands of migrants arrive at U.S. southern border every month.

Many make it into the U.S. despite risking treacherous crossings, and a continuing policy that allows borders to turn people away.

Now some southern states are sending groups of arrivals on buses up to the nation’s capital, without consideration of what they’re supposed to do next.

Despite NGO and volunteer best efforts, there is still limited support for people who’ve already risked so much on their journeys – all just for a chance at a better life.
