Children are back to school in Peru after two years out of classrooms due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The country was one of the hardest-hit in the world by the coronavirus and children were no exception. Thousands lost parents or grandparents and – despite innovative learning programs online and via television – many must catch up both academically and socially. CGTN’s Dan Collyns takes a closer look at the Andean country’s long-awaited return to school.
