Thousands of migrants from U.S. southern border bused to Washington, D.C.

World Today

More than 5000 migrants who arrived in the United States via southern borders have been transported up to Washington, D.C. in buses since April.

It’s part of a policy by officials in Texas and Arizona to shift the focus onto the capital, of a wider national debate on how to handle a surge in the number of people coming to the U.S.

NGOs are doing what they can to help provide basic necessities.

But it’s not enough, leaving people struggling to survive.
