Guyana’s long-seek oil exploration became a reality with the first commercial-grade crude oil draw made in December of two-thousand nineteen. By doing so, Guyana was awarded the title of one of the newest oil-producing countries in the world. But is this a sustainable achievement when there is a critical shift in paradigms from fossil fuels to a more sustainable and cleaner energy source? We sat down with Guayana’s president Mohamed Irfaan Ali to discuss this and other issues.
