Thousands have gathered outside Buckingham Palace to pay tribute to the 96-year-old monarch who ruled over the United Kingdom and fourteen Commonwealth countries for seven decades.

The Royal Family announced the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Queen’s oldest son Charles now becomes King Charles III. During her reign, the queen met with thirteen U.S. presidents from Harry Truman to the current President Joe Biden.
