As the United Nations hosts the 77th General Assembly, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to pose one of the biggest challenges the organization has ever faced.

Despite many member states accusing Russia of violating the UN charter, the Security Council has failed to take major action.

But the crisis has highlighted the importance of the UN’s humanitarian work and the influence of the Secretary-General.
