World leaders descend on UN for first time since 2019

World leaders will descend on the United Nations headquarters in New York this week – their first face-to-face gathering since 2019.

More than 150 heads of state and high-level representatives will deliver speeches Tuesday through Monday.

Between climate change, a worsening food crisis and the lingering inequalities of the COVID-19 pandemic – there is no shortage of topics to discuss.

But as Toni Waterman explains – it’s the conflict in Ukraine that’s expected to dominate discussions.
