The European Union is investigating ruptures in the Nord Stream pipelines which have sent tons of natural gas into the Baltic Sea.

Authorities detected underwater explosions earlier this week.

Meanwhile, residents in Russian-occupied eastern and southern Ukraine voted overwhelmingly in favor of a referendum to rejoin the Russian Federation.
