Shoppers look for best deals on Cyber Monday despite inflation

Once upon a time, Black Friday and Cyber Monday were different. One was mainly in stores, the other mainly online. Now, you can’t tell them apart. With inflation running around 7.7 percent the steep discounts that U.S. retailers offer on Black Friday – the three-day shopping spree that starts the day after Thanksgiving – triggered a frenzy.

Bargain hunters spent more than $9.1 billion online this year—a new record.
