Flu hospitalizations rise in the U.S.

As hospitalizations in the U.S. soar, the Biden Administration is offering help to states to deal with the rise in respiratory illnesses.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra has written to governors saying the administration is ready to assist them.

It comes as nearly 20,000 people in the country were admitted to the hospital for flu last week, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
