Memphis protesters demand police reform after killing of Tyre Nichols

The protesters in Memphis called for police reform after the killing of Tyre Nichols by five officers this month. The 29-year-old Black motorist died after a traffic stop turned violent by the Memphis police officers that were part of the notorious “Scorpion Unit”, which was recently disbanded after Nichols death.

Video footage of that incident has stunned and sickened residents of Memphis for its staggering brutality and it has now prompted many to call for police reform. CGTN’s Toni Waterman has more.
