Moderna expected to raise price of vaccine

Millions of Americans have received the COVID-19 vaccine with no out-of-pocket costs, as the U.S. government footed the bill throughout the pandemic.

But that’s likely to change when the COVID-19 national and public health emergencies expire in May.

The American COVID-19 vaccine developer Moderna has said it’s considering raising the per dose price of its jab as high as 130 dollars —but maintains that cost will be borne by insurance companies, not individual Americans.

Still, the move is sparking backlash.
