Brazilian President attends Indigenous Assembly

World Today

There was much anticipation among Brazilian Indigenous communities – as Brazil’s President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva attended an important indigenous assembly this week in the Brazilian Amazon.

After many Indigenous leaders decried actions by Lula’s predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, they made clear they expect much more from the current administration.

CGTN’s Paulo Cabral traveled to Roraima, in the extreme north of Brazil, to participate in the Indigenous assembly.
