Brazil renews efforts to protect Amazon rainforest

Few aspects of Brazil draw as much attention from the world as the Amazon jungle, and the threat it faces from deforestation and other environmental dangers. And the country’s environment and climate change minister, Marina Silva, is a key figure in the difficult task of balancing the rainforest’s protection with the country’s and region’s need for development.
